Preacher Curl Attachment
I made this well over a year ago. COVID-19 closed my gym, and I really missed having a Preacher Curl bench. I have an Arm Blaster, but it isn’t a complete replacement for a preacher curl bench. I toyed with buying one Preacher Curl bench, but space in my Home gym is not a luxury. I am glad I did not - because the compactness of this attachment allows me to make better use of my gym’s limited space.
When I originally built it - I only planned on using it on the bench. This worked great for dumbbells, but when it came to using it or barbells (primarily the EZ Curl bar) - I had no way of racking the bar. With heavier loads, this became a problem. Then one day I had a lightbulb moment - I have already build my DIY Parallel bars, and wouldn’t you know it… the thing fit…BOOM. Now I had a place to rack my bar!
I used it this way for about a year (without the wedges on the back). Since the pitch was not static, it did rock a little, when in use. This is why I came up with the idea to add the wedges. I procrastinated for a very long time to add the wedges,(due to other competing DIY projects), but eventually the time came - and I really like it. The NEW one I made while shooting the video ended up being a better fit on the parallel bars than the original version - so I am glad that I made this video!
