Titan Fitness Glute Ham Developer (GHD)

Intro

The Titan Fitness GHD is awesome because it is heavier duty than all other GHDs in this price range. An epic value. Some might say that this is basically a cheaper clone of the Rogue Abram GHD – which is also a heavy-duty 11-gague steel GHD. However, when the Titan GHD was in my shopping cart it was on sale only $489 SHIPPED (right before the 2025 Chinese tariffs hit) – and compared to the $835 SHIPPED Rogue version. Therefore, at those prices the Titan GHD saves you $346 –for what is basically the exact same thing.

Before I selected the TITAN GHD over the competition, I watched YouTube reviews. All the reviews that I saw were a few years old - so I thought maybe it’s a good item for a Review Refresh.

In those older Reviews, some of the chief complaints about the product was that the upholstery and the padding – the upholstery was too slick and the pad was not dense enough. However,  both of those issues have been resolved now. The Padding is more dense and the upholstery is grippy – which is excellent.

Specs

This GHD is awesome (for the most part). Here are a few specifications:

  • 46” Wide front base (which means that that will likely never tip over). Titan GHD has the widest base of all GHDs I considered

  • 72.5" Long with Wheels on /  70" Long without Wheels.

  • 41.5” Tall (from the ground to the top of the hip pad)

  • 190 LBS

  • 11-gauge steel

Negatives

  • Foot plate: There is some front-to-back “play” with the Footplate. However, the Rogue Abram has the same issue. There is also some “play” from side-to-side (and the Rogue Abram has that same issue as well).

  • Powder Coat: The is not a commercial quality powder coat. However, at these prices you should not expect it to be. The product was shipped with a few scratches - but generally speaking - it arrived in good condition.

  • Foot Plate Knobs: The Pop pins on the foot plate for vertical adjustment are cheap plastic, while the pop pin for the Arced “sun dial” is more premium.

  • No Band Pegs - Just Holes: Band Pegs are not included, but there are holes to add band pegs. You will have to source these yourself because Titan does not sell band pegs that are compatible with their GHD. However, I bought these from Body Solid - and they fit the Titan GHD: https://amzn.to/42QPRwf

  • Foot Plate Square Tubing:   Since the square tubing is not recessed below the top surface of the leg roller pads, you cannot sit on top of the Leg Roller Pads comfortably. You will want to sit here when the foot plate is slid close to the hip pad -for exercises such as Glute Ham Raises.

  • Rear Rocking: On certain movements the rear can slightly rock. It will definitely not tip over - just slight rocking, which can get annoying. To weight the bottom rear down, you could lay a plate or two on the bottom frame, but I wish that Titan would add a weight horn to the rear of the frame and to the rear of the foot plate to act as a counter balance.

Reasons to Pick Titan

As discussed in the video. I created a spreadsheet comparing the Titan Fitness GHD to popular alternatives:

The Titan GHD was the clear winner. The price of $489 (before Tariffs hit), for a GHD that is 11-gauge steel, weighs190 LBS, and has a 46” wide front base - is amazing! It delivers all the things that I wanted in a GHD: Price, Durability, Speed/Ease to Adjust, Stability, Safety, and comfort.

The other GHDs in this price range (REP Fitness, Get RX’d, Body Solid, etc.) are lighter-weight GHDs and thinner-gauge steel (The REP Website states that their GHD is made of 16-gague steel. I could not find the specifications for Get RX’d or Body Solid. However, by the looks of them they are probably thinner than 11 gauge steel also). The Titan GHD weighs 190 LBS, while the Rep Fitness GHD weighs only 150 LBS, the Get RX’d weighs only 135 LBS, and the Body Solid GHD weighs only 136 LBS.

The other reason that separates the Titan model from the others - is that there is no crossmember along which the footplate slides. Instead - the footplate is adjusted via a pop-pin along an arced piece of metal - allowing for more freedom of movement when mounting or dismounting the GHD. This means - with the Titan model - you cannot slip and crush your PRIVATES . The only other GHD that I considered that has this same design is the Rogue Abram GHD. However, that Rogue version is much more expensive. Remember, the Titan’s Prices INCLUDE FREE SHIPPING. Whereas, Rogue charges an additional fee for shipping.
