RitFit PLC01 2-in-1 Leg Extension & Leg Curl Machine
Bottom Line
I want to start by giving you my overall impression up front – and then I will cover the good and the bad about the product, which lead me to this conclusion.
Of all the products that I have reviewed, I was more pleasantly surprised with this product than any other product. My expectations were not high due to the low price. Super affordable options for seated leg extension machines out there generally are disappointing. However, the resistance curve of this product far exceeds my expectations.
So here is the overall impression: If you are looking for a super high-end piece of equipment – then look elsewhere. However, If you are looking for tremendous value – meaning you get what you pay for and THEN SOME – then you should definitely consider picking this up. In fact – I would go as far to say – if you are even entertaining the idea of wanting a budget-friendly Leg Extension/Leg curl machine – then snag one before they are gone.
This product recently came out, and as of today (01 NOV 2024), they have already sold out…and it will sell out again. In fact, My prediction is that this item will be one of the hottest home gym items of 2024 and into 2025… It’s just that good.

HOW TO USE
To set up for the Leg Extension – set the back pad to your desired pitch, set the leg roller to desired setting, add plates…and exercise!
To Set up for the Prone Leg Curl, adjust the pack pad so that it is flat, set the leg roller to the desired setting….and exercise!
USING BANDS
I only have LONG bands (the Rogue Monster Bands) – so this is how I add them:
You can hitch one end of the band to the frame – and then against one or both Band pegs – and loop onto the weight horn…and exercise. You can use the bands in conjunction with plates or instead of plates.
RESISTANCE CURVE
With typical plate-loaded options – which operate on a pendulum system -- for the Leg Extension – the resistance is minimal at the beginning of the rep…but delivers good resistance at the top of the rep. For the Leg Curl (which is usually a SEATED leg Curl on budget friendly options) -- the opposite is true, where the resistance is good at the beginning of the rep – but drops off at the top of the rep.
Now the reason why this product is awesome– and what sets it apart from the competition is: it delivers the CONSISTENT RESISTANCE CURVE– that most pendulum-based alternatives cannot provide. And it’s all because of this - the product’s PULLEY and CAM – which provides the feeling of a SELECTORIZED MACHINE.
Therefore, you are getting the feel of a weigh stack without the price of a weight stack. With this design, the plates stay within the confines of the center of mass of the product’s frame as they move up and down. Therefore, the unit is extremely stable and does not wobble.
Therefore, there is no need to weigh it down with plates on this weight storage horn. Whereas most plate loaded options in this price range require you to weigh it down with plates on the weight horn to prevent those inferior products from wobbling.
Further, on the Leg Extension, the roller pad can be set very far back – providing a full range of motion. This setting is much further back than other budget-friendly options.
2:1 RATIO? No.
I put 45 LBS plate on the Weight horn and used a digital luggage scale to measure the resistance level. The 45 LBS plate measured at 29 LBS of resistance. Therefore, you should feel 64% of the weight you load. A 2:1 ratio would 50% - so this is not technically a 2:1 ratio.
Before you whine about this 64% - likes it is a bad thing…Umm – sorry to burst your bubble - but your pendulum-based system isn’t a 1:1 ratio either. That LEVER is still doing a substantial portion of the work for you too.
SPECS
Lets cover the specifications:
PADDING
Roller Pad
The length of the roller pad here is only 16.5” long . I would ideally like it to be a little longer – to ensure that there is no way your foot would ever slip off…but I do think that the 16.5” length should suffice for most people.
I do wish I could lock it into place with another pop pin. However, it freely rotates. On the Leg Extensions you can dial in the fit – by placing the leg roller on either the top or the bottom of this arm. However, on the leg curl – per the instructions - you are supposed to keep this UNDER the arm here (like this). It can feel a little awkward to get into place for the first rep, so it would be nice if it were locked into place with a pop pin.
Back Pad:
The Seat is 22” Long/Tall, and is 11.5” wide at the bottom of the pad.
While the back pad does have 4 adjustment positions – it cannot slide forwards or backwards.
I am 6 feet tall. If you are significantly shorter than me, your face might be buried in the pad on the Leg curl.
The back pad ends at my scapula….which is okay – but some head support would be preferred on the Leg Extension. Of course –that would likely raise the price.
So to sum up: If the Back Pad could slide, that would be preferred . However, this would likely increase the price.
Seat Pad:
The Seat Pad is 18” Long and 14” Wide at the front.
The seat has no adjustability. It is fixed. You cannot adjust the pitch in any way. Now for the Leg Extension the seat should be in an Incline position (WHICH IT IS) – but for the PRONE Leg Curl - it would ideally be set to a DECLINE position.
Lastly the max user weight is 325 LBS– but the seat pad is certainly not large enough for someone who weighs 325 LBS.
Padding Construction
The padding is made of relatively dense material.
The Back Pad and Seat pads are mounted to some sort of plywood – with threaded inserts for the mounting bolts to go into. It’s pretty decent for what you are paying for, but if the wood was thicker it would be more durable.
However, how long the stitching will hold up is anyone’s guess. It’s nice, but certainly not commercial quality. If the stitching is going to fail, I predict that it will fail along this vinyl skirting.
