Spud Inc makes a version of the Strap Loading Pin. Now - SPUD makes TOP QUALITY stuff and I am sure that their version is OBJECTIVELY better than this. NO CONTEST! SO If you make this DIY Version and end up using it A LOT, consider buying the REAL THING from Spud!

Now technically you could make this Strap Loading pin with just ONE Soft loop Tie Down strap. The reason I made it using two Soft loop Tie Down Straps was because, I did not want the washer digging into the plate’s paint any more than was necessary. Using only 1 strap would cause the washer to hang vertically and the edges of the washer would be slightly more harmful to the paint on my weights.

SO - by adding a second washes, the washer remains more horizontal, and there is less contact between the washer and the paint on my weight plates.
