Lat Pulldown

Using the DIY Cable Crossover as a Lat Pulldown was not great.  My options were to pull down inside the rack where the weights would swing into me (no Thank you), or pulldown outside the rack at an angle – which made the Lat pulldown down movement more of an Lat Pull “Down – but not straight down” kind of movement.

I am so glad that a YouTube Viewer asked me if the design works well on the exterior eyebolts for Lat Pulldowns. After getting asked, I tested it out. Then I came up with the idea of simply adding one more Eyebolt – (6” from the edge of the rack), and adding one long cable with two pulleys, anchored to the beam’s center eyebolt and this new eyebolt.

The results were awesome. Also – using The safety bar (with a pad) makes for a very safe and stable way to add weight that would otherwise tip over your rack or hoist your body in the air when going to heavy.

Further, I have connected this new fifth cable to a Lower pulley organic to the original Cable Crossover Design – and it is as smooth as butter. In fact, it is so smooth, I am probably going to use this new 5th cable when conducting ANY Single-Cable exercise, whether it is a Low-to-high or a High-to-Low exercise. I will likely only use the other ORIGINAL two cables attached to the top of the Cable Crossover when executing a DOUBLE-cable exercise. And, of course, the reason for this is obvious, the more pulleys being used, the smoother the movement feels.

Once you try this for yourself – be sure to let me know how well it worked for you! Happy Lifting!
