Kettlebell / Duck Walk Handle

This project was a lot of fun.

It is easy to build, and is an extremely versatile piece of equipment. It is highly customizable/adaptable for each workout. You want to go heavier - add a longer nipple. You want it more compact - use a shorter nipple. You want shorter handles for one exercise - great. You need longer handles for another exercise - okay do it.

I personally love to add extra long handles (12”) to them on arm day, and blast my biceps. Using an arm blaster with this (where the PVC handles smoothly rotate on the handles) gives you an extremely awesome bicep pump!

Here is the shopping list so that you can make your own. The prices are Home Depot prices (as of January 2021).

Remember if you are using Olympic plates - that you will also want to create an Olympic plate adapter to prevent the clang - clang, clang of the weights (unless you like that for some reason).

That shopping list is here:

One note about the 6” spring clamp: a smaller (“less long”) spring clamp might be able to be used, but I didn’t have a smaller one that could fit the 1 1/2” PVC into its jaws. The fact is, the “6” refers to the LENGTH of the clamp - not the width of its jaws. However, the width of the jaws it all that is important here.If you Build this project and want to brag about it, please use the #DesignBuildLift hashtag so that I can feature your amazing creation on my social media to help inspire others!
