The Slant Stack

What’s Included

The “Slant Stack” includes:

  • 25 Degree Slant Board

  • 3 Stackable, Interlocking 2” Risers (which have a groove for Resistance Bands, turning the product into a “band box”).

The slant board locks onto the top riser, and the riser can stack and locks onto another to prevent slipping. The slant board comes with a sheet of grip tape that you stick on yourself.

Additionally, you can add 7 high-quality Resistance Bands (With Zippered Carrying Case) for an extra $80.

Buy or DIY?

As someone who made the following DIY Slant Board/Band Box a few years ago — I must say, that the best option for MOST people is to buy the Slant Stack instead of DIY-ing. The time and materials that goes into this product just will not be a worthwhile endeavor for most people (unless you already have the materials on hand). Here are my old DIY Tutorial videos from when I made my own Slant Board/Band Box:

Slant Stack Specifications

  • Risers: 2” x19.25” x 16”stackable risers

  • Slant Board: 19”x11” SLANT board.

  • Weight capacity of Riser/Slant Board: 1200 LBS

Resistance Bands

The 41” long resistance Bands provide the following resistance levels (each one provides a RANGE because as resistance bands are stretched the resistance level INCREASES):

  • Yellow: 5-15 LBS

  • Red: 5-35 LBS

  • Black: 20-60 LBS

  • Purple: 30-80 LBS

  • Green: 40-110 LBS

  • Blue: 60-150 LBS

  • Orange: 70-175 LBS

Verdict

Overall, I think it is great product for the price tag…Having said that – I do have some critiques:

  • CRITIQUE #1: Discoloration of Band (Blue one only)

    • These bands appear to high quality bands. They are just every bit as good as my expensive ROGUE bands. Further they look IDENTICAL to REP Fitness Resistance Bands. In fact, they probably came from the same factory. However, I did notice that my BLUE resistance band had some fading/discoloration. The bands come folded up and tied together with rubber bands. I am guessing that my blue band sat in direct sunlight for a while (on a shelf in the factory, near a window?), because the exposed area was faded, and the area that was folded up was bright blue. See picture below. The discoloration doesn’t affect performance of the band, but I still think it is worth mentioning.

  • CRITIQUE #2: They should include a SECOND sheet of Grip Tape.

    • They give you one sheet of grip tape which for the slant board. However, if they provided a second sheet, you could stick it on one of the risers as well. Each riser is slightly textured, which does provide some degree of grip. However, ideally the top riser would have a maximum-degree of grip. I added my own grip tape to ONE of my risers. If you also do this, just make sure that you never use it as the base when adding a resistance band. Eventually the rough surface of the grip tape could wear out the band…and…SNAP. Therefore, I plan on always using the riser with the grip tape as my TOP riser - so there is never any rubbing against the bands.

  • CRITIQUE #3: Sell Additional Risers Individually

    • I wish you could buy additional riser as SINGLES. However, currently you can only buy additional risers as a three pack. If I want one extra to make a stack with 4 levels or make 5 levels, you have to buy the 3 pack - consequently buying than what you need.

  • CRITIQUE 4: I wish you could change the pitch of the slant board

    • The slant board has a 25 degree pitch. However, what if you want a steeper/less steep pitch? If they could also sell a wedge that “clicks” under the risers, or underneath the slant board, or on TOP of the slant board - this could allow you to change the pitch. OF COURSE, they could also just sell 15, 20, 30, etc. degree slant boards as well.

Other than these 4 critiques…I think that the “Slant Stack” is great product!
